Curatorial Ethos

The gallery establishes dialogues between different generations and cultures, balancing young local artists with established names from movements such as Arte Povera. It accompanies and promotes the careers of successful modern and contemporary artists, fostering strong ties with local artistic communities in its respective locations.

Founded in 1986 by Jule Kewenig, Kewenig is an international commercial gallery with spaces in Berlin and Palma de Mallorca. The Berlin location operates from a historic 1688 townhouse on Museum Island, while the Palma space occupies a 13th-century medieval chapel. Under the leadership of Justus F. Kewenig, who took over the Berlin branch in 2017, the gallery supports modern and contemporary artists through exhibitions in both cities.
