Galerie Nagel Draxler

Curatorial Ethos

The gallery focuses on established, mid-career, and young artists who define the artistic discourses of their times, offering younger artists a context rooted in recent art history. It emphasizes institutional critique, postcolonial transcultural perspectives, and increasingly explores digital cultures, blockchains, and Web3 technologies through dedicated projects and artist representations.

Galerie Nagel Draxler is a commercial gallery founded in Cologne in 1990, originally as Galerie Christian Nagel, with current locations in Berlin, Cologne, and Meseberg. The gallery represents an established generation of artists alongside mid-career figures and emerging talents, maintaining a strong historical lineage including early exhibitions of Martin Kippenberger and Cosima von Bonin. Its spaces, designed by Bundschuh architects, host solo and group exhibitions that engage with contemporary artistic discourses.
