A TRANS — gallery cover

Curatorial Ethos

The platform focuses on the intersection of art, architecture, and urbanism, inviting international collaborators to create projects that transcend disciplinary boundaries. It promotes participatory public interventions and fosters dialogue among individuals, institutions, and groups interested in social questions and new experimental tendencies in city life.

A TRANS is a conceptual laboratory and nomadic platform for contemporary art, architecture, and urbanism founded in Berlin by architect and curator Isolde Nagel in 2006. Originally operating as the A trans Pavilion in Hackesche Höfe until 2011, it evolved into a traveling project space before establishing its current location at Vitrine U-Zoologischer Garten (U9) in 2023. The venue hosts exhibitions, installations, and discourses that investigate cultural paradigms and experimental tendencies impacting urban practices.
