Curatorial Ethos

BAC’s curatorial ethos centers on creating spaces for dis/engagements, collective learning, and knowledge sharing while bridging artistic practices with socio-political realities. The program prioritizes experimental interventions, artist support through various commissions, and inclusive educational initiatives that encourage participants to rethink their relationship with their environment and each other.

Beirut Art Center (BAC) is a contemporary art space in Beirut, Lebanon, established in 2009 by Sandra Dagher and Lamia Joreige. Located in the Adlieh district, it operates as a non-profit platform dedicated to exhibitions, education, performance, and public programming for local and international artists. The center maintains year-round activities including workshops, residencies, and commissions, aiming to foster collective learning and dialogue amidst socio-political challenges.
