Julia Ibbini Studio — gallery cover

Curatorial Ethos

An Abu Dhabi art-and-design studio where centuries-old ornament meets code — the award-winning practice of Julia Ibbini, making intricate, one-of-a-kind works at the meeting point of craftsmanship, geometry and digital fabrication.

Studio Ibbini is an award-winning art and design practice based in Abu Dhabi, led by Jordanian-British artist and designer Julia Ibbini in collaboration with French computational-geometry specialist Stéphane Noyer. The studio explores pattern, ornament and systems of repetition through algorithms and digital fabrication, producing intricate works using in-house techniques that blend hand craftsmanship with machine processes — individual pieces can take up to a year to make. It was awarded the Van Cleef & Arpels Middle East Design Prize in 2019 and shortlisted for the Design Prize (Craftsmanship) at the Institut du Monde Arabe, Paris, in 2025, and has been commissioned for Arab Design Now at Design Doha 2026, including works in dialogue with the Museum of Islamic Art, Doha. Works are sold directly through the studio.
