About the work

A work on reclaimed wood combined with fabric and mixed materials, in which faint facial features surface from the worn grain. Like the tile installation of recycled panels in the exhibition, it asks to be looked for rather than simply looked at, extending Tallaa's interest in surfaces that carry the record of time. Shown in The Living Archive at Firetti Contemporary, Dubai, an exhibition proposing that the marks experience leaves on faces, bodies and surfaces are not damage but proof of having been here.
