Biography
Richard Hudson is a British sculptor, born in Yorkshire and long based in Madrid, known for large abstract works in mirror-polished stainless steel and bronze whose smooth, organic, sensual forms are frequently inspired by the female body. Their highly reflective surfaces draw the surrounding environment and the viewer into the work, a quality often compared to Anish Kapoor's Cloud Gate. Hudson has exhibited across Europe, the Americas and Asia, and his pieces are held in private collections including those of Elton John, Michael Douglas, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Claudia Schiffer. His monumental mirror-heart LOVE ME, installed on The Dubai Mall's Waterfront Promenade, was the first of his public works commissioned in the Middle East.
