Biography
Félix Bracquemond (1833–1914) was a French painter, etcher and printmaker who played a key role in the revival of printmaking, encouraging artists such as Édouard Manet, Edgar Degas and Camille Pissarro to take up etching. Unusually for a leading artist of his time, he also designed pottery for several French manufacturers in an innovative style that marked the beginning of Japonisme in France. He was married to the Impressionist painter Marie Bracquemond.
