Biography

Esperanza Martínez Velasco is a Mexican textile artisan who creates necklaces and adornments from silkworm cocoons and silk threads coloured with natural dyes, drawing on traditional sericulture and dyeing practices. Her work is featured in Expanded Tradition: Contemporary Craft Practices in Mexico at M7, Doha (2026).
