Biography

Erandine de Saint Phalle Navarro is a Mexican artisan who transforms gourds into vase-like ornamental vessels finished with gold leaf and inlaid maque, the pre-Hispanic lacquer technique still practised in Mexico. Her work reinterprets inherited lacquer traditions through contemporary forms and is featured in Expanded Tradition: Contemporary Craft Practices in Mexico at M7, Doha (2026).
