Biography
Brooklin A. Soumahoro (born 1990 in Paris) is a painter and visual artist who lives and works in Los Angeles. His geometric abstractions are built from repeated and combined triangular modules, worked out in pencil through precise mathematical calculation and then painted in thousands of fine brushstrokes, beginning with humble painted underlayers. The resulting works – including his ongoing series of Windows – generate what the artist calls a 'perfect unbalance', in which rigorous systems give way to optical and chromatic instability. In 2026 his work was shown in the exhibition Formes ouvertes at the Institut Suédois, Paris, and in his first solo exhibition with Mennour, Let There Be.
