Japan Folk-Craft Museum

The Japan Folk Crafts Museum is a registered museum located in Meguro-ku, Tokyo, established in 1936 as the headquarters of the Mingei (folk craft) movement founded by philosopher Soetsu Yanagi. Operated by the Public Interest Incorporated Foundation, it houses approximately 17,000 works of Japanese and international folk crafts, including ceramics, textiles, woodwork, and metalwork. The institution serves as the central base for collecting, preserving, researching, and exhibiting these items while promoting the concept of 'beauty in everyday life.'
