Indian Heritage Centre
South Asian diaspora heritage, history and visual culture
About
The institution serves as a heritage platform powered by community voices and contributions to honour the roots and stories of the Indian diaspora in Singapore. Its programme focuses on immersive historical narratives, living heritage engagement, and multidisciplinary cultural activities including festivals and masterclasses.
The Indian Heritage Centre is a Singapore Government Agency and an integral part of the National Heritage Board's museum ecosystem, located at 5 Campbell Lane in the Little India district. Opened in May 2015, it features five permanent galleries that trace the history of the Indian and South Asian communities in Southeast Asia through artefacts, heirlooms, and interactive displays. The centre operates as a cultural hub offering performances, workshops, symposiums, and educational programmes alongside its exhibition spaces.
