Bait Al Naboodah

Bait Al Naboodah is a heritage museum located in the Al Mareija area of Sharjah, operating under the Sharjah Museums Authority since its opening in 1995 and subsequent restoration in 2018. Housed in a two-storey coral-walled residence built in 1845 for prominent pearl merchant Obaid Al Naboodah, the museum showcases traditional Emirati architectural design and ancestral lifestyle. Visitors explore its distinctive teak columns, intricate wood and plaster carvings, and wind scoops while learning about the region’s historic pearl trade and coastal domestic life. The venue also hosts daily interactive workshops, academic programmes, and community events within its preserved historic spaces.
