Shaikh Ebrahim Center

The center’s programme focuses on facilitating multidisciplinary dialogue through lectures, poetry, music, theater, and workshops alongside local and international thinkers. Its curatorial ethos is rooted in cultural preservation and community engagement, highlighted by extensive restoration projects of traditional Bahraini architecture and heritage houses that document the nation’s maritime and urban history.

Located in Muharraq, Bahrain, the Shaikh Ebrahim Bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa Center for Culture and Research operates as a public cultural institution dedicated to preserving heritage and fostering the open exchange of ideas. Since 2002, it has hosted hundreds of artists, speakers, philosophers, and poets across its main venue and a network of restored traditional houses, including Khalaf House and Bin Matar House. The center offers ticketed access, guided tours, on-site cafes, and a gift shop while maintaining active programs in literature, music, theater, and architectural conservation.
