From desert companion to global superfood — Camelicious is where Emirati camel culture meets modern dairy production at an unprecedented scale.
Camelicious is the world's largest camel dairy farm, home to over 9,000 dromedary and Bactrian camels on a 13 square kilometre site along Dubai-Al Ain Road. Owned by the Al Ghurair family, it operates as both a working production facility and a visitor destination — offering guided farm and factory tours, camel feeding, camel racing demonstrations and tastings of camel milk products. One of the few places in the UAE where the role of the camel in Emirati life is visible not as heritage display but as living daily reality.

The camel is on the UAE dirham. It appears in poetry, in proverbs, in the names of neighbourhoods. It crossed the Rub' al Khali carrying salt and dates before any of the roads existed. And then the oil came, and the cities came, and the camel became something you photograph from a safari jeep at sunset. Camelicious is not that. It is 9,000 camels on 13 square kilometres along the Al Ain road, milked twice a day, the product sealed and shipped to supermarkets across the Gulf. The tour takes you through both the farm and the factory — past the milking parlour, past the calves, past the production line — and at the end someone hands you a glass of fresh camel milk and it tastes nothing like you expected. That surprise is the point. This is not heritage as display. It is heritage still operating, scaled up and adapted and completely alive. The camel racing track is a bonus. So is the ice cream.
