Traditional Food House
Cuisine as cultural identity
A pavilion designed and implemented by ACCIONA Cultura on the Emirati table — dishes such as machboos and harees — and the role food plays in holding cultural identity together. It traces how ingredients were gathered, grown or caught across the country's contrasting environments — mountain, oasis, sea and land — and combined into a cuisine that is wholly distinctive to the region. Multisensory and immersive techniques carry the subject, treating the kitchen and the shared meal as repositories of heritage rather than mere sustenance, and connecting food directly to the land-and-sea relationship the surrounding pavilions explore.
