An openwork celadon-glazed vase made at the Longquan kiln during the Ming dynasty (circa 1368–1644 CE), on loan from the National Museum of China. Longquan celadons were among the Chinese ceramics exported along the Maritime Silk Road, prized from the Arabian Gulf to Africa and Europe. The vase features in Boats Floating Afar, which traces more than a thousand years of ceramic production and maritime trade from the Tang to the Qing dynasties.
