About

The center reaffirms its institutional commitment to advancing contemporary art in Thailand through rigorous curatorial research and cross-border collaborations. Its programming prioritizes multidisciplinary practices that examine postcolonial histories, cultural identity, and social resilience, often bridging traditional heritage with experimental forms. By maintaining partnerships with regional and global institutions, the venue functions as a dynamic platform for emerging and established voices in Southeast Asian and international art.

Located in central Bangkok at No.6 Soi Kasemsan 2, the Jim Thompson Art Center operates as a contemporary art venue under the James H.W. Thompson Foundation. Originally founded in 2003 to support textiles and the arts, the institution relocated to its current purpose-built facility in 2022 and now hosts a rotating schedule of solo and group exhibitions. The center actively supports Thai and international artists across video, performance, installation, and photography, while also hosting multidisciplinary festivals and educational programs. It remains open daily from 10 AM to 6 PM with a standard admission fee.
