Originally opened in 1962 as the National Museum of Modern Art and later renamed Gulbenkian Hall, the venue currently operates as a bookable exhibition space under the Iraqi Ministry of Culture, Plastic Art Department. Following a 2014 restoration funded by the Gulbenkian Foundation, the historic building hosts temporary artistic displays and cultural events upon reservation.
