Qasr Al Hosn

The institution’s programme focuses on promoting and nurturing the rich intangible heritage of the United Arab Emirates through traditional performing arts, poetry, and hands-on artisan workshops. Its House of Artisans specifically facilitates skill development in indigenous crafts such as Sadu weaving, while public events highlight UNESCO-inscribed cultural practices.

Qasr Al Hosn is Abu Dhabi’s oldest and most significant building, operating as a historical landmark and cultural centre on Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum Street. The site preserves the emirate’s narrative from its origins as a traditional pearling settlement to its modern development, featuring dedicated spaces like the House of Artisans. It operates year-round, offering guided tours, educational workshops, and traditional performances that engage both local visitors and cultural tourists.
