Made With Your Magic – Jeddah

Curated by Brussels-based independent curator Tarek Abou El Fetouh, Made With Your Magic – Jeddah borrows its Arabic title, 'Suni‘a Bisihrika', from a mnemonic phrase for the eight main Eastern (Arabic) musical maqâms. Approaching the maqâms as vessels of memory, identity and transformation, the exhibition brings together sculpture, painting, installation, photography and video reflecting on ethnicity and identity, art and authority, and relations to land and other beings. Artists include Alla Abdunabi, Ala Younis, Ahmad Ghossein, Ayman Zedani, Bady Dalloul, Bachar Fayoud, Hossam Sirgahyah, Sonia Kallel, Fredj Moussa, Nour Abuarafeh, Mohammad Nammoor, Mounir Salah and Walid Raad, among others. The third chapter of a project that began in Tunis in 2025 (initiated by Dream City) and continued at Beirut Art Center, before moving on to Damascus and Baghdad. On view on the ground and first floors of Hayy Arts.
