Verapat Sitipol: Stream of the Forest

'Stream of the Forest' presents a body of work by contemporary Thai painter Verapat Sitipol that explores the shifting relationship between abstraction and the natural world. Rooted in close observation of nature, his compositions are built from stratified colour, gestural inflections and subtle tonal modulations — layered greens, soft shadows and rhythmic brushwork that conjure fragments of forest, terrain and light without fixing them to a single geography. The 'stream' of the title is a continuum: an ongoing flow of perception in which looking unfolds slowly over time. Educated at Silpakorn University in Bangkok and Visva-Bharati University in Santiniketan, Sitipol is now based between Kanchanaburi and Bangkok.
