Private World

This exhibition brings together works by Lulua Alyahya, Rami Farook, Sohrab Hura and Khaled Jarada that draw the viewer into intimate, elusive worlds. Modest in scale, they invite a closer, more inward form of looking, evoking solitude, seclusion and reflection. Rami Farook's works, such as Praying (during the fire) and Dawn (during the fire), bring private states of thought, belief and emotion to the surface; Khaled Jarada's sketches, drawn from a private diary, turn personal observation into an intimate encounter; Sohrab Hura's gouaches explore relationships, vulnerability and fleeting encounters, extending into the natural world; and Lulua Alyahya's paintings move between memory, imagination and physical and psychological landscapes.
