The Erasure of Palestine: Book Launch and Talk by Ahmad Al-Bazz

Palestinian photographer Ahmad Al-Bazz presents his book "The Erasure of Palestine", which brings together three years of research and photography across hundreds of Palestinian villages and towns whose residents were displaced and whose built fabric was destroyed from 1948 onwards. The book traces what remains of these places and of the land over which a new settler-colonial landscape was built. Setting photography in dialogue with research and historical testimony, it looks at memory, absence and the continuing erasure of place, and asks what it means to document and reclaim these histories. In this talk, Al-Bazz speaks about the research and fieldwork behind the project and the visual archive the book has assembled of places once integral to Palestinian life. The talk is held in Arabic. Registration is required through the form on the Darat al Funun website.
