About the work

She who has a tranquil soul (Al-Mutma'inna) depicts a figure at peace within Kurdieh's moonlit universe. The title, drawn from the language of spiritual serenity, frames the painting as an image of inner calm reached after the trials of the journey. Part of The Journey at Fann À Porter, Majd Kurdieh's eighth solo exhibition of narrative, surreal oil paintings, each beginning from a line of poetry or writing.
