Loiter (Philadelphia Department of Parks and Recreation)

About the work

Bench dividers – the hostile-architecture devices installed to prevent people from lying down – removed from public seating and presented as sculpture. Part of Johnson's ongoing Loiter series, which salvages objects designed to control how bodies use public space.
