About the work
Same scale as A Cow, same medium, same year — a companion piece in the most literal sense. Dogs appear differently than cows in migration narratives: they travel, they adapt, they attach to people rather than places. Pugacheva has said her work always contains a house, even when it isn't visible. A dog is the house that moves with you. The painting holds that ambiguity without resolving it.
