Biography
Li Hei Di (b. 1997) is a Chinese-born artist who lives and works in London. Their paintings, which hover between figuration and abstraction, draw on Eastern folklore, Asian cinema, and Western art history to explore desire, identity, and transformation through shimmering, biomorphic compositions. Li attended a student exchange program in Ohio before studying at Idyllwild Arts in southern California, received a BA in Fine Art from Chelsea College of Arts, London, in 2020, and an MA in Painting from the Royal College of Art, London, in 2022. Solo exhibitions include Linseed Projects, Shanghai (2022); Michael Kohn Gallery, Los Angeles (2023); Pippy Houldsworth Gallery, London (2024); and Tongues of Flare at Pace Gallery, Hong Kong (2025). Li joined Pace’s program in 2024.
