Biography
Hassan Meer (b. 1972, Muscat) is an Omani artist and a pioneer of contemporary art in Oman, working across photography, video, installation and painting. Founder of the Circle Art Group, he explores memory, spirituality, ritual and the body; his photograph Beyond the Hills (2008) depicts a hill facing the sea with birds circling as a metaphor for transition and freedom.
